Eduardo Antonio Salvio is an Argentine professional footballer who was born on July 13, 1990, in Avellaneda, Argentina. He currently plays as a right-winger for Boca Juniors in the Argentine Primera Division and the Argentina national team. Salvio began his football career in Lanus at an early age and was quickly signed by Atletico Madrid's youth academy, where he made his professional debut in 2008. He spent six seasons with the club and played a critical role in their 2013-14 La Liga title success. Benfica signed him on loan after that season, and they eventually made his deal permanent in 2016 for 11 million euros. Salvio played for Benfica until 2019, winning five Primeira Liga titles and being named the club's Player of the Year in 2013-14 and 2014-15. He returned to Boca Juniors in 2020 after a decade apart and has since been a regular in their starting lineup. Salvio has also appeared for Argentina's national team, debuting in 2009 and representing his country in the Copa America and the FIFA World Cup.
